During the online Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) general membership meeting on addressing the learning (education) crisis on Tuesday, Briones discussed the budget allocated and assistance preferences for education. "We are underspending in education in relation to our GDP and according to world standards. This is where the different sectors come in, this is where the international partners come in, this is where business comes in. An increasing number of business partners have been helping out. The challenge here for business and other institutions is they would have preferences, which is sometimes not exactly the same as our preferences," Briones said. The Philippine Cable and Telecommunications Association Inc. (PCTA) staged its first-ever e-technology show from April 14 to 16. Themed “Bigger. Bolder. Together,” the virtual convention gathered members of the country’s cable and telecommunication industries as they discussed pressing topics and the impacts of the pandemic in the communities they serve.

“We’ve been talking about disruption for years, and the pandemic made it more real for us than we could ever have imagined,” said PCTA President Joel Dabao. “It has pushed all of us to adapt and innovate fast. This year’s e-tech show demonstrates the PCTA’s willingness to take the lead in helping the country and our stakeholders thrive amidst the limitations of lockdowns and quarantines.”

Teachers, students, and parents are experiencing many challenges brought about by the pandemic. That is why
Knowledge Channel Foundation, ABS-CBN, Globe Telecom, and Mary’s Way Foundation have partnered for the Big Blue Hearts Campaign, which provides them the tools for teaching and learning such as internet modems and internet load.
With these tools, students can now access the video lessons from the Wikaharian series, a show on Knowledge Channel that teaches children to read in Filipino.
Introduced to Grade 1 classes in 18 public schools in Sta. Rosa, Laguna in 2019 through KCFI’s Basa Bilang project, Wikaharian was able to help improve the performance of the said students in tests.
