Jackson used a 35-point quarter to set the tone Friday on homecoming night against McClain, and their quick offensive start was too much for the Tigers to overcome in Week 9. McClain lost the road game, 62-14, as Jackson maintained their perfect Frontier Athletic Conference record.
It was a tale of two halves for the McClain Tigers, as they outscored the host Northwest Mohawks 14-0 in the first two quarters Friday night, only to see Northwest score two unanswered touchdowns in the second half. Thanks to strong defensive play by the Tigers, though, McClain held on for a 14-13 victory over Northwest.
The McClain Tigers played almost a flawless first half when they built a 28-0 lead en route to a convincing 41-23 season-opening victory over Adena in Greenfield Friday night.
