The meeting, which is learnt to have lasted for over two hours and ended after midnight, was attended by Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik along with several coaches. “We had a meeting with the Home Minister. I can’t comment further,” Bajrang told The Indian Express.
Malik made the remarks while addressing a mahapanchayat named 'Sarv Samaj Samarthan Panchayat' in support of the protesting wrestlers in Mundlana village, Sonipat district, Haryana.
The wrestlers have been demanding action against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accusing the latter of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation.
