TTCF kicks off UN Road Safety Week Sunday 14 March 2021 IN recognition of the United Nations’ resolution on Improving Global Road Safety, the TT Cycling Federation (TTCF) kicks off the UN Global Road Safety Week with a bike safety awareness ride on Sunday from 3pm. In light of UN’s proclamation of the Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030) and the ambitious target of preventing at least half of road traffic deaths and injuries, local cycling clubs Central Spokes, Sabers, Rigtech Sonics and Coconut Rim have opted to raise awareness. The ride begins at Barakah Grounds in Chaguanas, heads to felicity and on to the Chaguanas main road. Cyclists will return to the starting point via Lange Park. The expected duration is just under two hours.

Alexander tops TTCF elite assessment TT s Quincy Alexander - TEAM DRIVE Phase Sport’s Quincy Alexander was the fastest elite national sprinter at the final TT Cycling Federation (TTCF) assessment meet which was contested at the National Cycling Centre in Couva on Friday. Alexander clocked 10.406 seconds in the Flying 200 metres and surpassed the Elite Pan American Track Cycling Championships men’s sprint qualification time of 10.5. He also bettered his 10.654 time produced at the first assessment two weeks ago. Two-time Olympian Njisane Phillip (Rigtech Sonics) had another energetic display on the track as he stopped the clock on 10.449 as compared to his 10.488 at the first leg.
