MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Arkansas State scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to quash a Troy rally and walk away with a 9-6 victory Friday afternoon in the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament opener for both teams at Riverwalk Stadium.
Troy (27-25) rallied from a 6-0 deficit after two-and-a-half innings of play capped by Caleb Bartolero’s game-tying, two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning. However, Arkansas State (20-30) loaded the bases on a single, double and intentional walk in the top of the ninth before Sky-Lar Culver hit a bases-clearing double into the gap in right-center field.

CONWAY, S.C. – Capped off by a grand slam from freshman outfielder Billy Underwood, the Chanticleers scored six runs in the fourth inning but saw its comeback bid fall short in a 9-7 conference loss at home to the Troy Trojans on Friday afternoon in Conway, S.C.
The two teams combined to score 13 runs with two outs over the nine-inning contest with Troy scoring eight two-out runs and the Chants plating five.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Davis Hare and Mat Nelson each hit late-inning home runs, and the FSU bullpen continued its strong weekend, as No. 20 Florida State (23-16) rallied from an early deficit for a 4-2 win over Troy (21-21) Sunday afternoon at Dick Howser Stadium. The win clinched the series for the Seminoles.
Each team scored just seven runs over the three-game series, which FSU won two games to one. Conor Grady continued FSU’s strong starting pitching Sunday, with a career-high 13 strikeouts with no walks. He did give up a pair of runs (one earned) over 5.0 innings.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Bryce Hubbart struck out 12 batters and allowed just two hits Saturday, but No. 20 Florida State (22-16) could not get the bats going in a 3-0 loss to Troy (21-20) at Dick Howser Stadium. Nic Nolan’s solo home run in the sixth inning broke up Hubbart’s perfect game and proved to be the winning run.
Hubbart (5-3) struck out two batters in each of the first five innings and one each in the sixth and seventh. A leadoff double in the seventh inning, followed by a balk and strikeout, ended Hubbart’s day.
Logan Cerny scored on an error to double the score against Hunter Perdue in the seventh. Troy’s third run came in the ninth inning after Cerny doubled, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a passed ball.
