A leading epidemiologist has warned rapid antigen tests are quickly becoming out of reach to regular Australians as the price soars throughout the country.
Not every patient recorded as a hospitalised Covid case is in hospital for the virus, with many simple testing positive during routine admission checks, it has emerged.
Up until now Australia health authorities have shunned rapid antigen tests in the fight against Covid and relied on PCR lab testing - but now with 18,000 cases a day that has all changed.
