Pvt. Hiram Honaker was buried in 1888 in what was then a family cemetery in the village of Osborn. Today, the plot is a small patch of grass near the north end of a base runway south of Loop Road, a brief drive from the base’s air traffic control tower.
Air Force Materiel Command is opening the doors to its “Spark Tank” competition for the third year, inviting airmen and Space Force guardians uniformed and civilian to submit ideas on how the force can operate better and more efficiently.
The Air Force recently announced the assignment of a new executive director at the headquarters of Air Force Materiel Command and chief scientist at the 711th Human Performance Wing.
The drill will simulate an aircraft mishap with “mass casualties,” the base said in a notice. First responders will immediately head to the exercise location, and an 88th Air Base Wing inspection team will evaluate response across the base.
