New Riff Distilling Adds 6-Year-Old Malted Rye Whiskey To Lineup
New Riff Distilling recently announced the release of a new 6-year-old Malted Rye Whiskey.
Made with 100% malted rye grain and aged six years, savory, floral fruits, powdered sugar, balanced oak and vanilla fruits like plum skin and pear can be found on the nose, according to official tasting notes, followed by spices, saltwater taffy, fruits, clove and a toasty-malty note on the tongue.
The finish is said to be “focused spice with clove and pink peppercorn, elegant and refined.”

New Riff plans $2m expansion 9th April, 2021 by Nicola Carruthers
Kentucky-based New Riff Distilling will begin a US$2 million expansion of its site next month, which will increase production by 50%.
The expansion project will include the installation of three new fermenters
Construction at the distillery is expected to start in mid-May, subject to permits. The expansion will add 900 sq ft to the site in Newport and includes the installation of three new fermenters.
The expansion is expected to be completed by December 2021.
The project will fix a current production bottleneck, allowing distilling to take place six days a week instead of four. The move is predicted to increase production to 12,000 barrels annually, up from 8,000 currently.
