This off-season, New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman is going to earn his money as he faces the challenge of building up a roster despite some potentially limited financial resources.
What does Gettleman need to accomplish to crush this off-season and free agency in particular? Here is our proposed free-agency plan that, if the Giants can check all these boxes, will help create a roster that will be worlds better than the one they had last year.

Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta enters the 2021 offseason in an unenviable situation. The Ravens roster has three equally critical positional needs - receiver, outside linebacker and offensive line. Addressing each is necessary to construct a complete contender before Baltimore’s generational 2018 draft class graduates to market value contracts in 2022.
At edge rusher, the cupboard is almost bare, all five outside linebackers who saw action in the postseason are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents. Receiver has remained a problem area since drops contributed to the 2019 postseason loss against Tennessee. And upgrading an offensive line that underwhelmed in the playoffs for three consecutive seasons was considered an important need even before Orlando Brown Jr. voiced his strong desire to line up at left tackle.

The 49ers have been patient with Jimmy Garoppolo, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy. The 49ers have a roster that’s ready to compete deep into the playoffs, but they need a competent QB behind center. Lance fits this scheme perfectly with his ability to play under center, thrive on play action, and get out and throw on the move. With the surrounding cast that Lance has in San Francisco, plus the top-notch coaching, it wouldn’t surprise me if we see Lance enter the NFL MVP conversation within a year or two. His ceiling is that high.
