The Art of Window Display And Design: Ricky Toledo And Chito Vijandre On Working Together

AC+632’s window in July 2015 is inspired by the garden parties at Vaux-le-Vicomte and Château de Chantilly, with gardens designed by André Le Nôtre and parties mounted by François Vatel in the 17th century The pair wonderfully merge their interests and talents through the business they manage. They started a by-appointment boutique known as JUNO where they sold interesting finds from their travels but including creations of their own such as couture pillows and ostrich egg lamps. Apart from their own collection, the pair also added unique pieces from their friends, be it furniture, jewellery and other fashion accessories that one would not normally find in other stores.

Worldmakers

The Art of Window, Display, and Design DREAMS OF APOLLO The 2009 Christmas window of AC+632, Once Upon A Dream, was inspired by the Fairy Tale King, Ludwig II of Bavaria. The tableau features an imagined fantasy of the king, who from his Gothic bedroom in Neuschwanstein Castle daydreams of his sleigh pulled to the heavens by dolphins and the winds of Zephyr and Aura as his idol, the Sun King Louis XIV, gives his blessing as personified by the rising moon (Photo by Patrick Uy) More than a shop or a lifestyle and home furnishing store, AC+632 or Firma is a destination, a portal to otherworlds, time compressed and preserved in a room, whether inside or out through the shopwindow.

8 Travel Tastemakers On How The Pandemic Has Changed Travel And Where To Go In 2021

Award-winning broadcast journalist and storyteller One of the best-known news anchors in Indonesia, Andini Effendi has reported from all corners of the world. She covered the Libyan Civil War in 2011 and the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. After falling in love with Africa during a trip to South Africa and Namibia last year, she hopes to visit Rwanda next. “I want to see the conservation work there how nature and good policies can be an asset to a country. I believe Indonesia can learn from it.” She also wants to head to Guatemala and Chile, the latter for a scheduled marathon that was cancelled due to the pandemic. During lockdown, her travel philosophy has been transformed. “We will be travelling more to accessible places with a lesser impact on the environment where we feel secure about our health.” On that note, with a lot of Indonesia left for her to explore, she says now is the right time to see more of her home country.
