Venice beach. Witnesses say they have never seen or heard anything like it. The loudest clap of thunder ive ever heard in my life because it was so close. I thought it was like a bomb almost. Reporter but it was like the lightning that did the damage in Southern California this afternoon. Most of its a venice beach, killing a 20yearold. Among the dozen injured, a 15yearold boy. Witnesses say the sky drew dark, then came the lightning. The entire storm lasted 15 minutes. Some victims were on the beach. Others the water. Still others on the famed venice beach boardwalk. Nine were taken to the hospital. One listed in Critical Condition. All of a sudden you heard this crack, this giant bolt up in the sky. I had never seen it like that. Im from the midwest. Severe weather, a violent weather system working its way from the midwest to east tonight with millions of people in its path. Weve already seen strong thunderstorms and large hail on a vast stretch extending from illinois all the way to massachusetts. And as we look now at live radar, parts of kentucky, ohio, eastern tennessee, west virginia, and pennsylvania are under tornado watches and what could be a very tough and dangerous night. Of course it opened over the weekend but today, this mornings rush hour the first big test as folks went to the station, many people for the very first time and tried to make their way to work. Weve been talking to folks all morning long and it went pretty well. The gate at the spring hill station opened just a little before 5 00 a. M. Elsie isaac was one of the first commuters to catch the silver line train. Make my commute quicker, much quicker. Maybe my 30 minutes. Reporter things went smoothly this morning. Strategic team launches Zombie target from Scotland

The Space and Missile Defense Command Technical Center’s targets team launched a Pathfinder Zombie target May 19 from the Hebrides Range in Scotland during the ongoing At-Sea Demo/Formidable Shield 2021 exercise. The purpose of At-Sea Demo/Formidable Shield 2021, which includes approximately 10 nations participating with ships, aircraft, ground assets and deployed staff, is to improve allied interoperability in a joint live-fire Integrated Air and Missile Defense environment. SMDC played a role in the exercise by internationally shipping a fully integrated round for the first time. “This was my first mission as test director for SMDC. Leading this team of professionals in the first international Pathfinder Zombie launch was an honor for me and being in Scotland was pretty special within itself,” Pamela Galloway, mission test director, Targets Test Directorate, Technical Center, said. “We provided a successful target at the planned launch time and appeared to hav
