The owner of the Wicklow children's bookshop Halfway Up the Stairs in Greystones has said it was “quite unbelievable” that her store was named the An Post Bookshop of the Year. But the shop also had other reasons to celebrate as two local authors – one of whom works at the store and the other a regular visitor – also emerged with awards.
It was a sterling display of homegrown literary talent at the An Post Irish Book Awards last night, which saw Paul Murray receive Eason's Novel of the Year 2.
