Bucks County govt, towns and schools to receive nearly $300M under American Rescue Plan

Hundreds of millions of dollars in federal pandemic relief funding will begin pouring into Bucks County this month. The $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan will pump the largest sums yet in federal COVID-19 relief into the area an unprecedented $298 million combined for Bucks government and the 54 municipalities here, as well as the area s 13 public school districts. State and local governments are expected to receive the first distribution of funds no later than Monday. The balance of the funds will be sent a year from the first distribution, but no sooner.  Who s getting what? Bucks County government is projected to receive $121 million, while its municipalities will share in some $75 million.

Like elsewhere in the state, many in Westmoreland County still are wondering just how much they will get to cover lost revenue and unexpected expenses over the past year from the coronavirus pandemic. Several local officials also said it is not yet clear exactly how the money can be used.
