Back in April, toward the front end of the COVID-19 pandemic, area churches had to celebrate Easter in different ways, meeting remotely through a live-streamed or pre-recorded service.
But with the Christmas Eve coming up this week while still in the midst of the pandemic more than eight months since Easter Sunday churches will continue to take a different approach to its services Thursday.
Brian Gibson, the senior pastor at His Church, said Easter Sunday and Christmas Eve are the “Super Bowls” of services for the church as a whole, representing the birth and the incarnation of Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter.
