The Altamont Pass its off to a good start. At 4 30 lets go back to the desk. Topping our news a bomb was gunned down just blocked from an elementary school. Ktvu channel 2 reporter alex savidge sat the Richmond Police headquarters where investigators do not have a lot to go on. Alex. Reporter, no, they dont. This was the first homicide of the year here in richmond and detectives are hoping that witnesses come forward to help them find the shooter in this case. This killing happened just before 10 00 last night near the intersection of florida avenue and south fourth street. The victim here a woman in her 30s was found lying on the sidewalk. She had been shot several times in the upper body. Paramedics tried to revive her but she was pronounced dead here at the scene. Officers were in that neighborhood at the time and they heard gunfire but a Richmond Police lieutenant told me it was the shot spotter detection system that helped them get to this shooting scene quickly.
