Now at 5, a man in jail tonight, arrested accused of assaulting a plainclothes San Jose Police officer who was providing security for the san jose mayor at the time. San jose police say this man. 35 yearold Wesley Pollard has been arrested for battering a Police Officer and resisting arrest with violence. The incident was caught by kron 4 cameras during a tuesday evening interview with san jose mayor matt mahan at first in san fernando as steps right next to the mayor. That alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as factors in the incident. One kayaker is dead. Another rescued after an accident in marin county. This video is from our helicopter partnership with a bc 7 news. According to police. Two men set out for a kayacking trip this afternoon from nicks cove. But ended up in a treacherous rocky area near dillon beach. Witnesses reported the kayakers hit the rocks around 4 30 this afternoon. Wave runners and boats searched the waters. They found one kayaker. A 55 year old man from sonoma county. Dead in the water. And transported him to shore. Paramedics treated the other man at scene. And he was then released. Caught in the act and caught on camera. Burglars in antioch. Stopped in their tracks after a neighbor reports suspicious activity at a home just in the nick of time. The road work has been picked up. Now back to the desk. One city leader is calling for a state of emergency following another violent weekend on the streets of oakland. Four people killed. 11 others wounded since friday. Tara mority tells us the latest shooting took place at a Birthday Party. Reporter that is right. It happened at a Birthday Party and basically all of the victims were men. And they scattered and ran to a neighbors house for help. This comes after a particularly bloody weekend. Last nights shooting happening off seminary and foothill. Just the latest in a rash of violence since friday. Four people were killed friday in a bloody six hour stretch that started at 2 30 in the afternoon all victims there males ranging in age from 17 30. Its not known whether the 11 shootings that happened on saturday and sunday were linked not four killings friday, but police say fridays incident is gang related. Alex savidge is live right now at city hall with what city leaders are expected to say. Alex what are they expected to say . Reporter well, they are supposed to come up with some solutions some ways to try to curb the shootings. It was a particularly violent weekend in oakland. This announcement will involve both the mayor and police chief. Again it will happen within the hour. The announcement will take place right at the spot where threeyearold carlos nava was killed back in 2001. You may remember this shooting.
