Sewage spill causes closure of Richmond Beach Saltwater Park KIRO 7 News Staff © Washington State Department of Ecology A sewage spill from the Brightwater Treatment Plant forced the closure of Richmond Beach Saltwater Park on Sunday, according to Public Health – Seattle & King County. Officials did not say how much sewage spilled in the Sound. The public is being advised to avoid any contact with water where the spill happened until further notice. Officials said contact with “fecal-contaminated waters can result in gastroenteritis, skin rashes, upper respiratory infections, and other illnesses.” For more information about the spill, click here.
