$182,000 In Security Improvements Coming For Richland County Juvenile Court

Mar 4, 2021 The Richland County Commissioners Thursday approved a digital security upgrade for the Richland County Juvenile Court system at a cost of more than $182,000. According to RichlandSource.com, the analog system they have now is 15 years old and the digital update will include 58 cameras. Work could start sometime next week and take close to 9 months to complete.

Jan 11, 2021 Richland County Juvenile Court Judge Steve McKinley has announced the appointment of Sheryl M. Groff as Magistrate, according to a press release issued on Friday. According to Richland Source.com, Prior to joining the Juvenile Court, Attorney Groff worked as a private practitioner, served as the Agency Attorney for Richland County Children Services and as an Assistant Prosecutor for Richland County.  

Richland County commissioners OK plan to assist at-risk, online students

MANSFIELD Richland County commissioners on Tuesday approved a resolution that will help about 125 local students re-engage in online learning through Youth & Family Council. The students earmarked for the program thus far have been identified by Richland County Juvenile Court, largely for truancy and other behavioral issues through the Mansfield City Schools Tyger Digital Academy, according to YFC Executive Director Teresa Alt. The $196,500 approved by commissioners Tuesday to fund the program comes from the YFC pooled funds money each of the council s contributing agencies allocate to the council each year. The program will create learning pods at different sites within the community, where staff members and/or volunteers will assist small groups of students, largely in grades four through eight, with the academy s online program, according to Alt.
