After a high-turnout presidential election in November, a far smaller number of voters are expected to cast ballots in Tuesday s primary in partisan city council contests and on proposed township, village and school tax increases.
More than three in four registered voters in Stark County, more than 191,000 people, voted in November. That s almost certainly not going to happen Tuesday.
The last non-presidential primary took place in May 2019. The turnout then was less than 15%. Fewer than 36,500 voters cast ballots that year when there were where no countywide levy issues. That s the same situation this year.
Where do you vote?
Polls at 79 locations in Stark County will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
