NEW BEDFORD New Bedford Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the city’s South End this evening.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., police responded to the Richdale Foods store on Brock Avenue in regards to a shooting. There, they located a gunshot victim that was transported to the hospital, where police say he died from his wound.
New Bedford Police are on the scene and the investigation is ongoing at this time. Police ask that the public avoid the area.

An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in New Bedford on Friday, police said.
Officers responded to Richdale Foods on Brock Avenue in the southern end of the city about 6:45 p.m. for reports of a shooting, according to information shared on the New Bedford Police Departmentâs Facebook page.
Police arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police say the man, who authorities have not identified, was transported to St. Lukeâs Hospital where he died from his injuries.
