Ice rink to open in Taylor on Tuesday; Park Board project complete
Taylor is building an ice rink near the elementary school. They will be offering equipment rentals, opportunities for hockey and so much more Written By: M.C. AMICK | ×
It all started with Root Beer Floats.
Taylor’s City Council hosted a Root Beer Float Social midsummer last year where they and the Park Board asked residents what would make Taylor a more enjoyable place to live.
The park board decided to repurpose the basketball, tennis and volleyball courts behind Richardton-Taylor Elementary School for the winter.
The court will become an ice rink for both hockey and figure skating. Mayor Emory Vaagen hopes to have the 50’ x 80’ area lined and filled by Monday, Jan. 18, and ice by the following morning.
