Humans are attempting to satisfy the spiritual yearnings of the soul with the physical pleasures of life. And it won’t work. It can’t work. The physical pleasures of life can never satisfy the spiritual longings of the soul.
As we enter a new year, I am reminded of one of my favorite books. Twenty-five years ago I wandered into a bookstore and noticed a book with an intriguing title: The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen Covey. I had never heard of the book or the author, but it went on to become one of the best-selling books of all time.
As we enter this season of Christmas, I believe we can all agree there is a great need for hope. Family and social gatherings, memories of loved ones who have passed away and pressures of the holidays bring up a myriad of mixed emotions at a time that should be filled with joy and happiness.
