RIP Roy Naisbitt, Master Layout Artist And Longtime Collaborator Of Richard Williams
Veteran layout artist Roy Naisbitt died yesterday, April 25, aged 90. His death was announced on social media by former colleague Neil Boyle, among others.
Naisbitt was best known for his work with the late Richard Williams, with whom he collaborated on everything from
The Charge of the Light Brigade (1968) to
Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). But his filmography ranged wider than that, taking in big-studio productions like
Space Jam (1996), as well as acclaimed indie shorts such as Boyle’s
The Last Belle (2011). To all his projects he brought his exceptional skills as a draftsman, and a talent for distorted perspectives and unconventional camera moves.
