Managing Editor Diane Turbyfill won two first-place awards.
Her analysis of homicides in Cleveland County over five years took the top slot in beat news reporting. In the article, Shelby Police Chief Jeff Ledford asked the on-going question of gun violence in the area, How do we stop it?
