Complaint filed to overturn Borrego Solar project OK on Tihonet Road in Wareham

BOSTON – A complaint has been filed in Land Court challenging the Planning Board’s approval last month of a solar array project at 140 Tihonet Road on approximately 76 acres proposed by Borrego Solar Systems on land owned by A.D. Makepeace.
The complaint was filed by Margaret E. Sheehan, an attorney who is a volunteer with the Community Land and Water Coalition. The defendants are listed as board members George Barrett, Michael King, Richard Swenson, Michael Baptiste and Russell Motto, as well A.D. Makepeace and Borrego Solar Systems.

At their regular meeting on Monday night, the board decided to wait to decide about the necessary votes to pass the measure until Thursday in hopes the board’s query to the state would be answered.
The 756-acre Hospitality, Recreation and Entertainment district was created by the Notos Group, a Quincy-based developer, along with town officials. The district requires projects on at least 100-acre parcels and would require all proposals to go through a special permit process with the Planning Board, which gives the town a fair amount of say about what is built.

One of the saddest things I saw on Easter Sunday was Amazon delivery trucks on the road. Having to work on Sunday is bad enough, but Easter?
Amazon drivers face many other challenges as well. MSN.com reports (4/4/21) that the E-commerce giant finally acknowledged that some of their drivers are under stress where they can’t even take proper bathroom breaks. But enough about Amazon.
Violating the Sabbath principle is not healthy for society nor for us as individuals. God rested after His creation. He commands us to rest for a day a week.
