A NEW skate park could be built in Taunton following the enterprising efforts of an 11-year-old local resident. Jack Collins approached his district councillors in June about the prospect of a new skate park being built in his local area of Galmington. He has subsequently secured dozens of local supporters towards such a facility, including the offer of sponsorship to pay for its upkeep. Somerset West and Taunton Council will now investigate where the park could be built and how its construction could be funded. Mr Collins’ petition, which attracted more than 200 signatures, was presented at a virtual full council meeting on Tuesday evening (December 15).
