Chester Vendetti and his brother Richard are pushing forward with their plan to create a new housing development on 40 wooded acres in southeast Erie that they have owned for more than three decades a plan opposed by many of the surrounding neighbors.
Vendetti told the Erie Times-News last week that, with the help of Erie real estate agent Mark Graham, he intends to begin the first phase of the project this year: constructing at least 14 single-family homes on the property near East 35th Street and Bird Drive.
As many as 74 homes are planned as part of a multi-phase project that would be built over several years, said Graham, of Bay City R.E. Ltd.
