Reading the reviews – and most of them were very kind, he says, it became clear to me that no one could get over that I was an actor. The notoriety that I d gained as a performer. They re reading it with these characters I d played in their heads. In Germany, on tour for the second book, Hawke mentioned this to a publisher. He said to me, Your problem is you re not a famous writer, you re a famous person who writes. He told Hawke that he wouldn t get past that perception until you stare it in the face – that is, put yourself on the page.

In checking our archives, it turns out we’ve done quite a few posts on USA Today and fact-checking just this month. For example, USA Today “fact-checked” a very real photo of Jen Psaki, Joe Biden’s pick for press secretary, wearing a hammer and sickle hat, saying it was “missing context.” Just one day later, USA Today “fact-checked” a claim that “several Democratic politicians are urging social distancing and issuing stay-at-home advisories while hosting or attending gatherings themselves” by saying it, too, was “missing context.”
when the video surfaced prosecutors dropped the charges. we have more officers that will be suspended. we believe we ve identified all of the officers who were in the scene using force. it s not the only incident. we know there was a lot more police abuse going on that night. as one kid is pushed by police, justin hall in the checkered shirt watches, is grabbed from behind, struck from behind, and struck from behind again. i turned around and all of a sudden i was like what was that for, and then they did it a couple more types. he talked to 9 news now this night. this cop came up like five feet away and he s like oh, so you like doing interviews ha? and he says i ll give you [inaudible] interview. they came here angry for some reason when the students weren t angry until the officers provoked them. the videos have been broadcast nationwide evoking a response. we ve also received a threatening and hostile phone call from across the country. 9 news now and
moment. i was with my roommate. and we were just like, oh, my gosh. just seeing the policeman beat that kid up. i had never seen any video that was actually that clear. the video shows 21-year-old john mckenna, sweeping toward the officer, waving in the air. it happened on march 3rd, after maryland defeated duke in men s basketball. these are pictures of mckenna after the beating. he needed stitches in his head. it was very disturbing. but i ll tell you, we will continue to do the right thing. the prince george s police department has launched an internal affairs investigation, focusing on the three officers involved and another officer who filed charges against the student for assaulting a police officer. charges that prosecutors have now dropped. the state s attorney is launching a grand jury investigation. and now, the fbi has opened a case of their own. in a statement, the agency says once the investigation is complete, the civil rights will determine whether ther
