History and preserving the history of our veterans. The podium is yours. Please welcome owen. Owen i am a liasion specialist with the u. S. Congress veterans history project. That is just a fancy name for what i think is the best job in the world and, to be honest, a labor of love. We find ways for American Veterans to find their stories to share their stories. So far, the American History project has collected over 2000 veteran stories. To be honest, there are over 21 million living wartime veterans and to this is the largest collection of veterans World History in the United States. It is estimated that 51 of americans have an immediate Family Member who served the United States since world war ii. Or the legend in your life, please take the time to record their stories for the permanent record at the library of congress. And children can read letters and their look through pictures and read records from the passed. When i was a boy, my father was laid off, and he worked very hard. H
The Thunder Over Louisville Air Show this year drew massive crowds at Louisville Waterfront Park to watch some of the US Air Force's impressive aircraft and maneuvers in the sky to celebrate the US Air Force's 75th anniversary.
One last toast, the last silver goblet turned. The Air Force honors the memory of the Doolittle Raiders as all 80 brave men pass away. The final raider, Lt. Col. Richard Cole, passed away at age 103. He was Lt. Gen. James Doolittle's co-pilot during the historic raid.
