County leaders estimate that there are nearly 176,000 San Diegans ages 12 to 15 who can now get their Pfizer vaccine, following the FDA s authorization earlier this week.
For at least one of those young people, this has proven to be life-changing. It really opens up a lot, said 15-year-old Lola Ferguson, who got her first Pfizer shot Wednesday afternoon.
For her, this was more than just a run-of-the-mill vaccination It is the beginning of an amazing start for her and for our family, said her mother, Jennifer Ferguson. Just to be able to go out in the world.

Neighbors in El Cajon are livid, after learning that ten registered sex offenders are now living together in one house in their kid-friendly community.
Calling it a living nightmare, these parents say they are now fearful for their children s safety, and are demanding answers from the state.
According to California s Megan s Law website, the crimes these registered sex offenders living here are convicted of range from sodomy with a minor under age 18, to lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14.

CALIFORNIA, USA As California continues to endure one of the driest years on record, the state is ramping up its wildfire prevention efforts.
On Thursday, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that $536 million will be authorized early to gear up for the approaching fire season.
This is part of $1 billion toward firefighting efforts statewide originally earmarked for later this year.
