sunday at 10 on cnn. arizona senator kirsten cinema has been telling influential republicans she has no regrets about ditching the democrats, according to politico s jonathan martin cinemas, privately trashing democrats from the leader, chuck schumer to her influential moderate colleague, joe manchin. this martin reports she told this to a room of lobbyists that she s very happy to skip her former parties weekly lunches, saying quote all dudes are eating jello. everyone is talking about how great they are. that s an hour and a half twice a week that i can get back. democrats are not taking this too seriously. you see it right there. that s senator tina smith joking. but on the menu at yesterday s democratic lunch, yes, right there. red jello cinema, then retweeting that with a crying, laughing emoji, our reporters are back at the table of this is funny. this is funny, but it s about something . yes, we have props. we have jello. we have cool whip in the king household growing up. we di
people in this town who think you re supposed to stroke. their egos are coming to their events and all that. my question is can he used that to his advantage? sort of the anti establishment? i mean, isn t it a time honored tradition to run against washington? even if you ve been in congress and probably had to go to a lot of fundraisers? yes so run against the washington elites run against the establishment while raking in big contributions from rich republicans who don t want donald trump to be the nominee again kind of trying to appeal to those who have for years become frustrated with the so called sort of coastal elites in a way and the politicians they feel have become disengaged with their lives and what they know and again. that s sort of another example, going back to the previous point of trying to appeal to some of the trump paid trump some of the trump base while also engaging in a tip for tap with that specific and that is his lane. his lane is i m like trump policy wise. i
and, so, that for a lot of those republican, that s been a very effective tactic. that really kind of runs the plot. a lot of the legislation! other republicans that are in the party, that is not their thing. that is not with the fight over. they are looking at other narratives. and, even within the nra, which is very interesting, stephanie, you are finding more and more nra members that are just saying, i ve had, it i m done between the corruption inside the institution as a whole and this response to these tragedies. it will be a shame to see how that pressure builds inside that organization in a way that maybe changes some of that dynamic. but, right now, to the point that was just made, there is not a lot of hope in that regard. which is why the citizens have to turn the tables here. i don t, know michael. i will believe it when i see it. when i hear about people breaking away from the nra or
lose sight on. because guess what happens now that mcconnell sort of made this move, is that it freezes everything. so, now, schumer sitting there, going well, he s saying that he s going to talk to us about legislation, we are going on a break for ten days for memorial day and then, oh, and then the summer recess for 4th of july. and, all the steps that schumer could ve taken to put legislation on the table that would ve backed republicans into the corner on these individual items doesn t have been. because they are talking to democrats about legislation. we have seen this movie 1000 times. mcconnell is acutely adept at playing this particular game this way. it s still stunts me that senate democrats have been bigger this issue up by now. he is going to run the clock and wait for us to get back and talk about gas prices and the price of eggs at the grocery
