ATLANTA, Ga - The pandemic put a halt to an Atlanta tradition that has been around for 5 decades. The Peachtree Road Race became a virtual race in 2020. The Atlanta Track Club says this year the race is on, but there will be a lot of changes to keep runners safe.
Participants in the traditional 4th of July race will have a choice to run down Peachtree July 3, July 4 or virtually. We re going to spread out our participants over two days and bring them a unique 4th of July experience, said Atlanta Track Club Director Rich Kenah.

ATLANTA - The annual Peachtree Road Race will return to an in-person event on the Fourth of July weekend this year in Atlanta. The Atlanta Track Club notified participants on Wednesday. The world s largest 10K is shifting, is pivoting in 2021 to being the world s safest 10K. That s going to be our approach, explained Rich Kenah, executive director of the Atlanta Track Club.
