there s been really a global response to this conflict. russia doesn t have anything close, and and i think that has probably been something of a big surprise. and not just the nations that i ve mentioned. in the high north in europe, you ve got two countries, sweden and fin ifland, inching closer and closer to joining nato which puts nato in a very strategic position mt. far north of in the par north of europe against russia. so it s being encircled by a global community of economic, humanitarian and military support for the country that it invaded. and it s the there s really no way out but the negotiating table at some point. and hopefully soon. rich: and very quickly, is there a concern in the united states about this being a distraction, this pivot to asia that we ve been talking about for a decade
defeats this fall alone in areas that they had the russian military under putin declared victory we saw a russian retreat. i m referring to kharkiv and to kherson. these were big losses just a few months ago. so they need a bigger military, but whether they can have it, i think, is a really open question. rich: and this also goes to the question of can they quip more troops. e give more equip more troops. they ve had massive problems with that already, right? they have. and i failed to mention that they also have morale problems and training problems. so this has been a big audit on russia s military, this war. it has really demonstrated to the world that at every level of performance it is a weak military. it doesn t perform well many battle in battle.
many, as i said, defectors. morale is low. this is not a good formula going into the fall, into the winter. but what i think we will see more of is the attacks from the air by the russians on critical infrastructure in ukraine. they ve already hit and pummeled probably 50% of the emergency infrastructure energy infrastructure in the country. that s very dangerous for the ukrainians in frigid winter that they are facing. and that a may be the way that they stay in the game, so to speak, while they attempt to deal with what is really most likely a shrinking military. rich: there s been an incredible resolve from ukrainian forces, but you mentioned they re likely going to stay after it, the russians will. here s what the white house has to say about the resolve that they have in the russian government at the very top. it could end today if

will discuss gop priorities when the party takes control of the house next month, just as we were talking about. rich. rich: anita, a holiday shock for a member of the british royal family. while king charles is booting his own brother from buckingham palace. plus, russia is looking to expand its military by as much as 30%. how that could impact fighting in ukraine and tension with nato. ll they taste what we ve got [ tires squeal, crash ] when owning a small business gets real, progressive gets you right back to living the dream. now, where were we?
