(CNN) Uvalde officials are working to improve school security for when classes resume, including installing bulletproof windows, a school board meeting revealed Monday nearly two months after the horrific massacre at Robb Elementary School left 21 people dead, including 19 children.
The news follows the resignation of Uvalde school district police chief Pete Arredondo after the City Council placed him on paid administrative leave in June.
The principal of the Texas elementary school where a gunman killed 19 students and two teachers has been placed on administrative leave, her attorney said.
