Davao City LGU wants MECQ to break COVID-19 surge

The City is also requesting those affected in the MECQ zero operational capacity under DTI Memorandum Circular 21-19 to coordinate with the Trabaho Dabawenyo employment assistance at the City Mayor’s Office Special Project Office located inside Magsaysay Park. Under the MECQ all public transportation vehicles are allowed to travel. The City Government has again reiterated to residents on the need to stay home unless it is for work or business. The local government has attempted to stem the tide of surging COVID-19 cases, one of the recent executive orders to address the surge is Executive Order 31 which prohibits non-essential government face-to-face government activities these include inaugurations, ribbon cuttings, team building among many other non-essential government events. 

Davao City vaccine roll out to start March 5

A vaccination simulation exercise at the A. Mabini Elementary School vaccination site in Davao City. The COVID-19 vaccine roll-out in the city will start on March 5 with the arrival of the vaccines. DAVAO CITY, March 3 (PIA)- The vaccination roll out for Davao City will commence on March 5, according to Dr. Ashley Lopez, acting City Health Officer and focal person for COVID-19 concerns. He said Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III will be coming to the city to grace the occasion. Lopez said the city will still follow the priority listing as recommended by the Department of Health grouped from A, B to C.
