Chiefs legend Liam Messam may just not have played his final game of Super Rugby after all, though, for now, it’s boxing, and a heartfelt cause, which is occupying most of the former All Black’s attention. Having notched a record 179 matches for the franchise between 2006 and 2018, including captaining them to their two titles, Messam has been back in Chiefs colours – well, the bright purple and teal training hues, at least – the past few months after taking up an invitation to “spread a little bit of grey hair on the young fellas”.

After a day of siege of the Capitol building by Donald Trump supporters that resulted in four deaths, a joint session of Congress finished counting the Electoral College votes and confirmed Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States early Thursday morning, January 7.
Biden s 2020 election win was certified and cemented in history despite the disruption and objections from Republicans to election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania. Members from both chambers were able to certify the Electoral College more than 14 hours after the process began. The counting of Vermont s three electoral votes put Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris over the 270-threshold needed to win the presidency.
