Police revealed encrypted texts allegedly from accused drug syndicate mastermind Rhys Ferszt, which included a comparison of their operation to US TV drug gang drama Breaking Bad.
Rhys Alwyn Ferszt, 33, is a roads and drainage officer with Gold Coast council but was accused of being the leader of a cocaine manufacturing syndicate with ties to a Colombian drug cartel.
Rhys Ferszt, 33, was arrested on Thursday outside a Darwin gym with police alleging he is the mastermind of a plot to manufacture close to $175million worth of cocaine.
