Aussie pair Jason Scrivener and Cameron Davis have registered career-best finishes on the European Tour and PGA TOUR respectively and set some records along the way.
Starting the final round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship inside the top-10, Scrivener lost ground on the front nine at Abu Dhabi Golf Club before catching fire on the run home.
The 31-year-old West Australian eagled the par-5 10th and added five more birdies to play the back nine in 29, matching Chris Di Marco’s low back nine score record and rising to a runner-up finish behind Englishman Tyrrell Hatton.

Marc Leishman’s prospects of a successful title defence at Torrey Pines in two weeks’ time suddenly look much stronger after the Victorian used a bogey-free back-nine of 5-under 30 to finish in a tie for fourth at the PGA TOUR’s Sony Open in Hawaii.
Starting the final round at Waialae Country Club in a tie for ninth, Leishman was forced to scramble on a number of occasions on the outward nine, wayward tee shots putting him into awkward positions that twice necessitated punching out sideways to the sanctuary of the fairway.
An exquisite flop shot to tap-in range from the right of the ninth green gave Leishman momentum to take into the final nine and he capitalised in impressive fashion.

Wantima and Waialae country clubs are separated by 7,500 kilometres of Pacific Ocean yet Cameron Smith says he feels right at home ahead of his Sony Open title defence starting Friday morning.
The 2020 Masters runner-up made history last year by recording the worst start by a PGA TOUR winner since the advent of ShotLink in 2003 – 4-over after two holes – and returns to Honolulu confident in his game and comfortable in his surroundings.
Wantima Country Club in Brisbane’s northern suburbs is not heralded as one of Australian golf’s premier layouts yet its tight driving lines and exacting greens developed Smith into a player of the highest calibre.
