Two St. Jude School students scored in the top award positions of the Diocese of Scranton local Forensics Competition in mid-November. Rhea Mascarenhas took second place at the junior varsity level and Michael Grandzol took second place at the varsity level. This enabled them to move forward to the diocesan level competition in which both students competed against the top performers from across the Diocese of Scranton. Grandzol performed his piece from âTales of A Fourth Grade Nothingâ and Rhea Mascarenhas performed her piece from âJudy Moody: Girl Detective,â virtually for the judges. Mascarenhas took second place in the junior varsity competition and Grandzol took top honors with his first place award at the varsity level. Eileen Barney and Ann Papciak are coaches.
