Sources in the health department said that Congress candidate Rezaul Haq, who was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kolkata, died this morning after testing positive of COVID-19.
Congress candidate Rezaul Haq from Samasherganj assembly constituency in Murshidabad district of Bengal was initially admitted to a local private hospital on Wednesday, but later cited a mediocre facility in Kolkata after his condition deteriorated overnight. .
He died at around 5am this morning, sources told the news agency Press Trust of India.
