BOC posts P10 8-B collection surplus in April

MANILA-The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Wednesday reported it has posted a surplus of PHP10.769 billion in its April revenue collection. Based on the preliminary report from the BOC-Financial Service, the amount is 19.6 percent over its target for last month of PHP54.9 billion. The total collection for April 2022 is PHP65.7 billion. It also reported that 14 out of the 17 collection districts hit their targets namely: the Ports of San Fernando, Port of Manila, MICP, Batangas, Legaspi, Iloilo, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Subic, Clark, Aparri, and Limay. Last March, the Bureau recorded its highest monthly revenue collection in history with PHP70 billion collection for the period. DOF chief economist and retired Undersecretary Gil Beltran MANILA - The Board of Trustees of the Philippine Tax Academy (PTA) has unanimously voted to elect Department of Finance (DOF) chief economist and retired Undersecretary Gil Beltran as the institution's first president. Finance Secretary and PTA Board of Trustees chairperson Carlos Dominguez III nominated Beltran, who will serve up to June 30, 2022, without prejudice to his subsequent reappointment in the next administration. Retired DOF Assistant Secretary Ma. Teresa Habitan was also appointed as Chancellor of the PTA. Beltran was first appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as a member of the PTA Board of Trustees representing the academe on Jan. 18, 2022. Prior to his appointment as PTA president, Beltran was the DOF Undersecretary for the Policy Development and Management Services Group (PDMSG).
