The Commission on Elections has affirmed the decision of its Second Division to junk the petition that sought to have then presidential frontrunner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. declared a nuisance candidate and to cancel his certificate of candidacy.
"A careful review of the Motions for Reconsideration reveals that they failed to raise new matters that would warrant the reversal of the Assailed Resolution," the decision reads, adding that the motions "merely contain rehash of the Petitioners assertions and arguments."
The Commission on Elections en banc yesterday affirmed the dismissal of the disqualification cases filed against presidential frontrunner former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. due to his tax conviction.
