MOJÁCAR S MUNICIPAL NATIVITY DISPLAY OPENS TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

The Leader Newspaper BELEN MUNICIPAL foto Mojácar Council has set up its traditional nativity scene, or belén as it is known, in the Plaza del Parterre next to the Santa María Parish Church and, it will be open to the public throughout the Christmas period. Several the town’s emblematic buildings make an appearance in the scene, along with figures donated by the owner of La Capilla restaurant, Manuel Navío, which have been on show there alongside other art works over the years. Around fifty of these figures of great artistic value are displayed, originally acquired many years ago in Puente Tocino, Murcia, crafted by a well-known and prestigious belén creator. Even today, Murcian artists are still a world reference for the production of nativity scenes.

MOJÁCAR COUNCIL ORGANIZES MORE CULTURAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE TOWN S SCHOOLS

The Leader Newspaper DANZA MOBILE EN MOJACAR Foto Mojácar Council’s Culture Department is continuing with its plan to support culture and bring related events to the town’s youngsters, with the organization of two more cultural activities at the Rey Alabez Institute and the Bartolomé Flores School. The Rey Alabez Secondary pupils were given a dance workshop, created by the company Danza Mobile, in collaboration with the Junta de Andalucía.  Danza Mobile was set up in 2001, quickly becoming a benchmark in the contemporary dance world, both on the national and international stage. Importantly made up from dancers with Down’s syndrome, with more than 60 professionals from the world of performing arts, the company offers continuous training to performers at their Creation Centre.
