Red Cross honors Acadiana citizens, first responders who saved woman s life

Several area residents and first responders were honored Wednesday night by the American Red Cross for saving the life of an Acadiana woman last December.
During a rehearsal on December 11, 2019, for an upcoming parade performance, a dancer with the Lagniappe Ladies dance group suffered a serious medical emergency.
The group s choreographer Rex Broussard, off-duty nurses and dance group members Carolyn Broussard and Maxi Crain, Red Cross employee and dance group member Kara Murphy, Acadian Ambulance paramedics, Jim Privat and Carson Hebert, as well as members of the Lafayette Fire Department Captain Eric Prejean, Firefighter Caleb Guidry, Engineer Steven Freehan and Firefighter First Class Joshua Bourgeois all utilized their First Aid/CPR/AED and professional training to save the life of Stephanie Campos.
