Rewa Rugby Union president Ro Macanawai Mataitini said they had come back from a tour that was about more than just rugby.
The Rewa team yesterday returned home after a tour to Lakeba in Lau.
At the height of TC Yasa, Rewa rugby players donned their training gear to help in securing the island and evacuating the elderly and the young to shelters.
“One week of our tour was devoted to the ensuring the safety of the people of Lakeba, although we were guests, we could not stand idle and helped our kinsmen,” Mataitini said when they arrived at Narain Jetty.
