van jones, i saw a side eye there. well, wanted to say something about this. i feel that the reason this tape has been different than everything else with donald trump is that everything else he has done that s been controversial, that s gotten people upset could be put into one of three categories. it was either political conviction, he actually believes this stuff even if it is outrageous. you could say, okay, he is an authentic guy. or it is political calculation, he is trying to play to a certain base. you can say, he is being smart politically. or it is comedy, he is being an entertainer. this is first time it is not political conviction, calculation or comedy. this is him by himself in a hot mike moment with somebody else just talking and being his actual self. his actual self is disgusting and appalling. the reason and that s why i think people have reacted to this so strongly. we could go back, boy talk, locker room talk, et cetera, this is sexual assault talk.
at a time when we have still a struggling, recovering economy, when we have concerns of security and isis and all of these things. 11%. so this is a tabloid election. we talk about this stuff. we re going to continue talking about it. i do think the issue though is it can t be separated from donald trump and his character. he you re electing not just a person for the ideas and he doesn t have any so what else do we have him left? we judge him on his character. i want to play this. manu raju, our reporter in washington said, i was an athlete and no one talked that way donald trump and billy bush did on the access hollywood bus, watch this. we have now ten women that we know that have come forward that he sexual assaulted them. that s a crime. do you think he s committed a crime? i don t know. you know, you have to have somebody file a complaint, you know, you can t do it without someone having these are
numbers with women. he needs to improve them if he s going to win this election. these type of stories, we don t know who is telling the truth but they don t help him. it is kind of weird because as we re sitting here it sort of remi reminded me of the 60 minutes interview of i m not some tammy wynette standing by my man, and all of these years later we realize some of the things turned out to be true. do you think 10, 20 years in the future we will be looking back at the melania trump interview and thinking the same thing, bob? i think it depends on who wins on november 8th. but because there have been so many women that have come forward in the wake of the access hollywood tape which was very damaging to trump, you never know. but at the same time, you know, this is what politicians do. they re accused of stuff. we don t know who, you know, who is telling the truth. but accusation after accusation, it does add up. it leads to bad headlines, and
barack obama over the reverend wright stuff because i think that senator mccain just didn t want to get into the racial morass. so he didn t do it. and he wasn t aggressive in running down barack obama s achievements which were scant at that time in his career. mitt romney totally blew it he just wouldn t bring the fight to the president. he allowed him to rope-a-dope and get away with a whole bunch of stuff that chris christie wouldn t have done either of those. chris christie would have been right on the reverend wright stuff and right on the benghazi stuff. and that s what the democrats are afraid of. they have got to destroy christie before he can get to the primaries. i m not convinced that it s just christie. christie is the target of opportunity for them now. but there are going to be serial attackers. any time anybody in the polls gets close to hillary clinton. they will look back at the lesson of 2012 to democrats what they took away from that was, republicans never counter
because they know the incumbent so well. i do think this weekend there is going to be a pro obama cycle by the mainstream media based on the economy. that s going to be interesting to watch. i think that, and this four days for him doing his duties as president of this tragedy of the storm, sandy. and i appreciate the president s work there, but i also think we expect presidents to do that. and i believe that this election should be about jobs and the economy. now, four years ago in the debate you went light on barack obama about the reverend wright stuff. you didn t bring up a lot of his associations, resko and a lot of the chicago stuff. you basically took the high road. in the last debate, mitt romney did not bring up the libya stuff to any extent, whereby he could have, making it a bigger story. was that a mistake by the governor? i feel strongly about libya,
