Bank Negara international reserves expand to US$116 7bil as at Nov 30

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) international reserves expanded to US$116.7 billion as at Nov 30, 2021 from US$116.5 billion as at Nov 15, 2021.

Bank Negara said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.6 months of retained imports and 1.2 times total short-term external debt. KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) international reserves increased by US$400mil to US$109bil as at Feb 26,2021 compared to US$108.6bil as at Jan 29. In a statement on Friday, Bank Negara said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.6 months of retained imports and 1.2 times total short-term external debt. The central bank said the main components of the international reserves were foreign currency reserves (US$100.6 billion), International Monetary Fund reserves position (US$1.5 billion), Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) (US$1.2 billion), gold (US$2.4 billion), and other reserve assets (US$3.3 billion).
