U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer Bombers Have Just Arrived At Orland Air Station, Norway.
The B-1B arrival marks the first time U.S. bombers have operated out of Norway.
Four U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancers from the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, have deployed to Norway, as part of a BTF (Bomber Task Force) mission. Flying as TABOO (some sources say SABU) flight and supported by tankers from Pease Air Force Base, New Hampshire, and RAF Mildenhall, UK, the B-1s have arrived at Ørland Air Force Station, Norway, an important air base operated by the Royal Norwegian Air Force. The air station is the home of the RNoAF F-35 MOB (Main Operating Base) and also hosts search and rescue helicopters and a FOL (Forward Operating Location) of the NATO E-3A AWACS fleet.

Could getting the COVID vaccine ease your pre-deployment quarantine? February 3 Master-at-Arms 1st Class Patrick Moore receives the COVID-19 vaccine as U.S. Pacific Fleet Master Chief James Honea observes at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, on Dec. 29. (Chief Mass Communication Specialist Jay C. Pugh/Navy) An internal email sent out to members of a U.S. warship last month suggests that sailors who elect to receive COVID-19 vaccinations could receive less-strict pre-deployment quarantine in the future. While Navy officials emphasize that any such policy change remains under consideration, an email sent out to the weapons department of the guided-missile destroyer Chafee last month and obtained by Navy Times lays out how vaccinated sailors could affect quarantine time before a unit deploys.
The Military’s Worst ROM Meals, Vol. 1 Good food can make the suck more tolerable. Bad food can turn an already-crappy situation into a literal sh t sandwich. And judging by some of your photos, a shi t sandwich isn’t far off from what you’ve been served while conducting your pre-deployment “Restriction of Movement,” or ROM, during the pandy. To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, many of you have been restricted to a barracks or hotel room for two weeks. You’re likely very bored and looking forward to the meals they bring, both to feed you and to break up the monotony.
