Tourism workers are expected to, as of early next year, have the opportunity to apply for ownership of the 754 housing units which are being constructed in Rhyne Park, St James under the Ministry of Tourism s $1 billion Resort Squatter Settlements Upgrade Programme.
Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, has indicated that already, 50 of the units have been completed. The Government is currently undertaking the construction of 754 affordable housing units in Rhyne Park, St James for tourism workers. More than 50 of the units have been completed, and sales will commence in January 2021, said Bartlett.
He was addressing workers from the Sangster and Norman Manley international airports during their annual appreciation breakfast recently.
