jail s 14,000 residents. 4,000 loaves a week. every inmate has to get four slices of bread per meal per day. we also feed the employees. so we make a lot of bread here. they gave us a couple of loaves and this butter. we slathered the butter on the loaves of bread. it rivaled any bakery in new york. inmate rhonda was hoping the bakery would help turn her life around. when i first came in here, i wanted to hurt myself. i was really depressed. i was going crazy. i said my first felon, i said oh, my god my record is so messed up now. i don t know what to do. so i got myself into the bakery. to keep myself busy, and i love the bakery. ever worked in a bakery
